Sometimes I’ll turn on my computer to write, and a food post won’t happen. When I do write posts that are non-food related, I feel a little guilty about it, because I don’t want to mislead you guys.  Food is a constant undercurrent in my life, which I hope I show you here, but sometimes other passions/thinking override the foodie in me.  I write about what I am passionate about, and what I’m thinking about, which is usually food, but not 100% of the time (I might have serious wardrobe issues if the only thing I ever thought about was food).  Some nights after work (or a VP debate), I find myself spending the remainder of my free time on my vimeo page watching the mini time capsule videos of my friends.

I can’t remember what initially sparked the interest in filming/editing, but I knew I wanted to create something special for Kathleen to mark her 25th birthday. I shot some video on my Canon PowerShot of dinner and the following day’s wine (and then beer) tasting on the North Fork of Long Island.  We got home that night at 8:00 or 9:00, and I sat up for a few hours trying to figure out how to work iMovie and edit the video.  I finally finished around midnight, and immediately jumped into Kathleen’s bed to show her what I created. I felt like a little First Grader who couldn’t wait to show Mom their beautifully accurate portrait of our family, when it was really just a bunch of scribbles in on a page. We loved it anyways.

Being that it’s October and I’m feeling nostalgic about, oh I don’t know… playing card games with child sized cards, drinking hot toddies, popping champagne while doing yoga in Central Park (yes, at the same time),  sparkly hats (I mean, jellyfish costumes), and the Hunt – the the day Carrie got engaged (!) last year (psst…wedding post here), I would like to post my October video here.

I hope you enjoy these scribbled masterpieces as much as I do.

Happy Friday everyone! Have an awesome weekend.
