Before addressing this post’s title (and before whipping out my wand), I’ll show you some recent eats from this week.  It’s the same thing over and over and over and over.  And over. I wish I had my own personal chef to cook me whatever I wanted day to day, but for now, I’ll have to make due with what ends up in my plasitc glassware.

Smoothies, smoothies.

Coffee, coffee, coffee.

(HI ICED COFFEE. Gooooollllly. I’ve MISSED you.  I like your friend you bring around with you. What’s his name?  72-degree-weather-in-the-middle-of-March?  Yeah, I like him.)

Greens, greens, greens for lunch. Are you surprised?

Ginger chews. I can’t buy these that often because I eat the entire package in less than 24 hours. I wish I could blame that one on magic.

Aaaaand Juice Generation. Where life savings go to die (but taste buds go to heaven?).

Okay, enough food.  It’s MAGIC time.  Are you ready?

Yes. That alarm is set before 6 AM. I have been waking up to run before 6 AM.  YOU GUYS.  This is big. I can hardly do anything before 6 AM, let alone WAKE UP AND RUN.  Usually, I’m the girl whose eyes plead to stay closed hours after waking, and whose depth perception doesn’t kick in until 10:30 AM, at the earliest.  Who’s that crazy person who knocked over the entire tray of bagels in the caf this morning?  THIS GIRL.

No but seriously, you guys. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT. I can’t. It’s witchcraft.

New kicks! I needed some more bounce, and my old sneaks desperately needed retirement.

I decided to start following a training schedule to get me in gear for running those measly 13.1 miles in 5 weeks. Gah. (I took this pic before my Wednesday morning run. And YES, I’ve been sticking to it…for the most part).

A few months ago, I attempted to run this early, and it did not go very well.  My brain and body hated me, and begged me to stop stop stop for the entire run.  This time, it’s been quite the awakening. Literally. Spring is here! And I’m feeeeeelin’ fine.

Before daylight savings, there was much more, er, daylight, that early in the morning.  Now? Not so much. It’s been a bit more challenging to get going, but it’s worth it.

It feels really good to get in 4 or 5 miles before 7 AM.  I mean come on, how can you not feel super accomplished after that?!  It makes my morning commute more enjoyable, and I’m so much more productive at work.  You should SEE my filing drawer.  All the same color.  Alphabetized.  Oh yeah.

It’s a lovely halo effect.

Let’s see if I can keep it up for the remainder of the time before the half.  Wish me luck.

I have a feeling it might take some darker magic to maintain this momentum.  Anyone here a Wiccan?
