Today we took a trip to Smorgasburg in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Smorgasburg is essentially a huge lot that is filled with food vendors, who sell and give away samples of delicious, delicious, delicious food.

Kathleen and I had attempted to get there a few times, but with each attempt we hit new obstacles… such as forgetting a subway card, tummy aches, subway lines no longer running to that station, wah, wah, wah.   This time around we smartened up, and traveled above ground by ferry.  We got a group together, and made the trip. WELL worth it.  It was over-whelming when we first walked in, unsure of where to try first. Pies, pizza, soups, cookies, and sandwiches oh my! Glorious.  We ate until we couldn’t.  Here’s a sampling of some of the bites we all tasted today:

Blue bottle coffee.

Butternut Squash soup.

Lamb burger (which I heard was phenomenal).

Figgy Smalls pizza.  Out. Of. This. World.

My little pumpkin.  And her coconut cream pie.

Anchovies.  Yes, I had a bite. No, I will not be eating them ever again.

Adam and his anchovies.

And lastly…

kombucha from tap.  Quick story: The guy who sold it to me, said that I was going to feel amazing after I drank it, and I laughed (thinking he was clearly crazy) and walked away.  It was really delicious, and so I decided to go back for a second cup. I’m not even sure how to explain it, but on the way home, I began to feel incredibly light. And so happy.  I don’t know if it was the kombucha, or the beautiful day, or my friends, but I was so incredibly content, and wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else.  Either that, or crazy kombucha man slipped something in my drink.  I’ll take it either way.

I’d highly recommend it.  Go drink some.  I’m going out.  Later!
