Off The Grid

As you can tell, I’ve been doing a little less blogging, and a little more
eating living. I don’t know if it has to do with the fact that I’ve taken a break from reading my usual anti-oxidant rich food/sustainable farming/slaughterhouse books, or maybe it’s that I’ve been taking full advantage of October festivities (being outside, all the time), but either way I needed to take a small step back from it all. I was getting a little nutrition fact yap-happy. Instead, I decided to put down the books, and do some hangin’ with my frens. Here is an attempted snapshot of my whirlwind week.
Apparently when I stop reading like an adult, I revert back to childhood and play pick up sticks. I didn’t hate it.
I also had lovely little date with my parents at The National in The Benjamin hotel. My camera decided to spend the night in, so I used my handy dandy hipstamatic app.
Sunday brunch at Arte Cafe on the Upper West Side. Bloody mary(s) mandatory.
Funday in the park.
Dinner at Eataly. I wish I could move in, but I don’t think I could afford the rent.
Went to a birthday dinner for my pretty friend Emily.
This weekend wouldn’t have been complete if I hadn’t grown up a little… so we went from pick-up sticks, to Andre. Naturally. We all went to the Hunt, which is basically an excuse for 20 something kids (and some children?!) to get together to drink champagne while sitting in hay and mud. I heard there was a horse race going on simultaneously.
And then to top the weekend off, one of my best friends got engaged. I could not be happier for the two of them. I don’t have any pictures because I was too busy crying tears of joy/following my beaming friend around like a happy puppy. Now we have a really good excuse for drinking more champagne, because instead of it being Sunday Funday, we’re CELEBRATING! I love you Glow and Poptart!
